The following case report discusses the diagnosis and management of vitamin B12 deficiency optic neuropathy and is appropriate as a teaching guide for thirdand fourth-year optometry students as well as optometry residents. The case report explores multiple facets of vitamin B12 deficiency including pathogenesis, epidemiology, manifestations, differential diagnosis and treatment modalities. The role of the optometrist in managing this condition to optimize visual recovery is also highlighted.
